This is a nifty device that is one of the newer models in the Emerson line. It has a sleek look and compact features that would make it appropriate for portable karaoke, or as a main machine in your home entertainment room. Everything you need for a quick round of karaoke is included on this machine, and there is the added bonus of iPod docking as well. The package comes complete with two discs that contain 300 MP3G songs. This is enough to keep you entertained for hours without having to buy any more music. The color screen works well and is able to display images and lyrics clearly. There are also movie and video recording capabilities as well. While many other karaoke machines in this price range have black and white displays, it is nice that the Emerson GM527 is able to offer colour. You also have the option of hooking the karaoke machine up to your television set for a better overall display. In terms of sound, the speakers are front heavy so you shouldn’t expect a full surround experience, but the same can be said of any other karaoke system in this price range. The karaoke microphone included with the package works well with the machine, but you will undoubtedly need to buy a second one in order to sing duets.
