It’s rather amazing that we didn’t find this product sooner because it’s one of the better models out there. It’s perfect for kids who are a bit too old for colourful karaoke machines decorated with butterflies and rainbows. This is great for adults too and is one of the few designs to incorporate a stand into the design. The biggest selling point is iPod and MP3 compatibility that basic allows you to build up your song collection without purchasing any karaoke CDs. As you can tell from the picture all you have to do is plug in your iPod or mp3 product and you’re ready to go. You can use the songs you have loaded already and there is a feature to take out the vocals so you can sing and hear your own voice. The sound is great for a product of this size and there are speakers built into the base of the stand, a really smart use of space that lets you set up your Memorex MKS-SS1 anywhere.

One noted downside of this machine is that your iPod might not fit comfortably in the main slot. This isn’t anything that can’t be remedied with a bit of careful balancing and tape. And obviously you won’t have a lyric display that will show you the words of your MP3 songs. But you can get the lyrics for virtually any song off the internet and print them out anyways. You can end up saving a lot of money on not having to buy full karaoke CDs that might contain songs you would never sing anyways. Overall this is a great karaoke system for the price, and it will be enjoyed by kids of all ages.
