The Best and Worst Reality Competition Show Judges

There’s lots of reasons why we love reality competition shows, but there’s nothing more important than good judges. Contestants will come and go, but the judges are the glue that holds a show together. If you have the right mix, you’ll have a hit that stays popular for years. Choose the wrong judges however, and people will lose interest pretty quickly. It’s more than just having something to say, it’s how you say it’s an whether or not you’re actually saying anything. American Idol Has Officially Jumped the Shark

Watching American Idol last night, it really dawned on me how boring everything was. It should have been one of the most tense and exciting shows of the season, but it was really just “meh”. I started to reflect back on the entire season from the beginning, and it’s really not the same experience anymore.

Some people said the same thing about last year, but it’s really hit a new low. The show is actually quite boring to watch, and there’s probably a few reasons for this. It’s still winning its timeslot and a huge ratings juggernaut, but I think more people are watching it out of habit than ever. Why the Voice is the Best Music Competition Show Out There

For the first time ever, it seems that American Idol has some serious competition from another show. American Idol has dominated the airwaves for over a decade now, and produced many stars along the way. Most notable include Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Clarkson, and Carrie Underwood. Of course there have been quite a few winners who have fallen by the wayside, but that’s  bound to happen with reality competition shows. Is American Idol Offensive to Karaoke Fans?

If you are a fan of American Idol then you’ll know that sometimes the term “karaoke” gets thrown around quite loosely. In fact, whenever somebody gives an average performance it’s not uncommon to hear Randy Jackson declare “that was very karaoke”. There is a big segment of karaoke fans who are utterly offended by having karaoke used in such a negative way. They take great offense that the hobby they love so much is used as an adjective for a poor singing performance. For these people, they think American Idol perpetuates the idea that karaoke is extremely unprofessional and only for bad singers. What do you think?
