I had been hearing good things about this machine so I was excited to give it a test drive. Right out-of-the-box, it looks impressive. This is the type of DVD-player shaped design that fits perfectly in your home entertainment cabinet. The manufacturer boasts a wider range of features, and it makes recording your own music easier than ever.
This is definitely a great machine for taking karaoke to the next level if you’re looking to make your own CDs and recordings. All of the display and selection features also make it a perfect fit for a party. This is definitely a machine with an old-school feel and look, but it comes with modern technology that separates it from the pack.
You can plop the RSQ NEO on top of your stereo system and the connections to your television or display screen can run easily through the back. It probably won’t take you any more than 10 minutes to figure out the right connection to get up and singing right away.
Be aware that all of the various buttons on the front of the machine and remote control can potentially be confusing. The instructions are rather basic so you’ll have to experiment a bit to confirm of various features. I was able to figure things out, but of course I have the advantage of previous experience with other machines. A total newcomer might be overwhelmed so make sure to factor in a bit of a learning curve in the beginning.
What really makes this product stand out are the easy recording and playing functions. If you’ve ever wanted to record your song, this device can do it through a USB connection in the front. You can use the flash drive to record different songs, and you can even record the entire party if you want. Or you can have people plug-in their separate flash strives and record their own songs. It’s as easy as pie.
You can also download CD and CDG formats on to your USB drive without having to switch things around. That means faster performance and it’s not a feature that most other machines have. In addition to the controls on the front, you get a lot of functionality on the included remote control – just make sure not to lose it!
Other fun features include being able to create an automatic songbook where all of the labels are made for you. There’s also a built-in scoring system that will rank your performance, and this is a fun feature for parties as well. Overall this machine does it’s job perfectly, and the only downside is the learning curve at the start. If you’re willing to invest a bit of time figuring out the various features, you’ll have access to one of the most comprehensive karaoke machines on the market.
